Dance anywhere, anytime with anyone.
From casual to formal, from exercise to hobby; the most versatile of dance.
Benefit with better health all over, mental ,body and soul.

Latin Dancing - Let's have fun!

What is a Latin dance?

A Latin dance usually has a lively, flirty feel using the hips and stays more on the spot suiting a smaller dance floor.
Unlike ballroom dances where partners stay mostly in dance hold Latin dances are more open,
often having one hand hold or no hold.
As a number of the dances have faster music the challenge is having a repertoire of moves for it to stay
interesting and not just repetitious.

It can be danced to a lot of contemporary music or it's original Latin rhythms.

Learning a combination of  Ballroom and Latin dances:

The combination makes you a very versatile dancer and makes dancing even more exciting.

Our Ballroom & Latin program will give you the confidence to go anywhere and dance with any partner to almost any type of music. With these dances you'll be ready to strut your stuff with the best of them at your next social function, whether it's a wedding, a work function or simply a night out on the town with someone special. Dance Generation's Ballroom & Latin syllabus is designed to give you a variety of dances that will enable you to enjoy yourself no matter what the occasion and include the following.

Learn to dance where you have choices.

Rumba

Easy to learn and fun to dance the Rumba suits most modern ballads and love songs and can be danced on the smallest of dance floors.  Rumba is today’s most common style for the first wedding dance and the music it suits makes it the most versatile when out dancing.
The sensual body rhythms and seductive movements of the Rumba give this dance the title of the dance of love.

CHA CHA

This is one of the faster dances taught in our Ballroom & Latin syllabus. Like the Rumba the Cha Cha is very sexy but in a cheeky way making this dance a lot of fun. It's also a great way to improve your fitness.

SWING

Dance Generation teaches two types of Swing in its Ballroom & Latin syllabus. Beginners learn the "Single Swing" which is danced to the faster Rock n Roll music. It's easy to learn and very popular. Once you've been dancing for a while you will also learn the "Triple Swing" which is danced to a slightly slower tempo and is very popular for dancing to the music of today.

SAMBA (Ballroom style)

The lively beat of the Samba makes you want to dance. You'll learn to dance to both the authentic South American rhythms as well as the music of today. This dance is very popular and can be danced to almost any type of music with a fast rhythmic beat.
Emphasis is on lots of hip movement and travelling, most other dances in this style are more spot dances.
